MiCA License Approval from the Netherlands to ZBD

MiCA License Approval from the Netherlands to ZBD

The Crypto-Assets Regulation for Markets (MiCA), the centerpiece of the European Union's (EU) regulations on crypto assets, is preparing to create a major transformation in the industry.

In this context, payment platform ZBD, which works with the Bitcoin Lightning network, received approval from the Dutch Financial Markets Authority (AFM) to obtain a MiCA license. With this license becoming active, ZBD will begin to provide wide-ranging services in the European market.

The Markets for Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) is a comprehensive legal framework aimed at regulating crypto assets across the EU.

Designed for purposes such as protecting users, increasing market stability and enabling the crypto industry to operate more transparently, MiCA also aims to support innovation and eliminate regulatory uncertainties.

With MiCA coming into force on December 30, 2024, it will be mandatory for crypto companies across the EU to operate under license. This regulation will ensure that the sector has a more reliable and sustainable structure, while also providing a safer environment for investors.

ZBD is known as a platform that offers fast and low-cost payment solutions via the Bitcoin Lightning network. The MiCA license to be obtained from the Dutch Financial Markets Authority will allow ZBD to expand its operations in the European market.

The license will enable ZBD to offer crypto custody, crypto exchange services and other financial solutions across the EU. By obtaining this license, the company aims to not only reach a wider customer base, but also build stronger trust through regulatory compliance.

The Netherlands stands out as one of the countries that adapts fastest to MiCA regulations across the EU. Regulatory authorities in the country are facilitating this process by providing guidance for crypto companies to operate in accordance with MiCA.

This proactive approach from the Netherlands allows companies like ZBD to integrate seamlessly into the EU market. Additionally, the country becomes an attractive center for crypto entrepreneurs thanks to these regulations.

However, other EU countries have not adapted to MiCA regulations at the same pace. Many member states have not yet completed the necessary legal regulations. This enables countries such as the Netherlands to take a leadership role in MiCA implementation.

ZBD plans to go beyond just offering payment services and add crypto custody, exchange services and other innovative solutions to its portfolio. With these services, the company aims to strengthen its position in the EU market and take a leading role in the sector.

ZBD’s possession of a MiCA license will enable the company to increase user confidence and operate free of regulatory uncertainty across the EU. The company will also continue to support fast and low-cost transactions with payment solutions based on the Bitcoin Lightning network.

MiCA regulations open the doors to a new era for the crypto industry across the EU. Thanks to these regulations, companies will be able to operate in 27 member countries with a single license. This will provide operational convenience and increase investor confidence.

The rapid adaptation of countries such as the Netherlands to MiCA regulations sets an example for other EU countries. The licenses obtained by innovative companies such as ZBD in this process are of great importance for the growth of the sector and its regular structure.

ZBD obtaining the MiCA license is an important development not only for the company but also for the European crypto industry in general. This step is considered a major step towards creating a regulatory-compliant, reliable and innovative sector.
