Uplink Reached 40,000 Routers!

Uplink Reached 40,000 Routers!

Uplink, which operates in the field of decentralized connection systems, left behind a major milestone for decentralized wireless networks by reaching 40,000 routers worldwide.

Uplink, which supports existing and new internet infrastructure in a decentralized manner, aims to increase internet access around the world by establishing lower-cost networks for WiFi, 5G and other cellular technologies. This step also reveals the increasing demand for decentralized internet infrastructure.

According to Uplink’s CEO Carlos Lei, this development is an indication of the growing demand for cost-effective internet solutions. The company’s success also reveals the scalability of decentralized connection technologies and how wireless networks can be transformed on a global scale.

“By integrating both existing and new wireless infrastructures into our ecosystem, we are demonstrating that mass adoption is already occurring,” Lei emphasized the future potential of decentralized networks.

The model adopted by Uplink is part of a broader technological shift known as Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN). Decentralized connection systems allow users to actively contribute to the network, unlike centralized providers.

Contributing users earn passive income to reduce internet costs. This model enables users to contribute to the network by encouraging them to both use their existing devices and install new devices.

Uplink’s core mission is to reduce internet service costs for end users by over 50%. It is stated that if adopted by a wide range of users, these costs can decrease by up to 90%.

Carlos Lei pointed out that one of the biggest obstacles to global internet access is digital inequality. Stating that many regions do not have reliable connection due to reasons such as inflation, corruption and high infrastructure costs, Lei stated that Uplink’s decentralized model offers a solution to this problem.

“This model enables individuals to contribute to the network through their devices and earn income in return for these contributions,” said Lei, emphasizing that decentralized connection is the most effective solution in this field.

Uplink aims to reduce the capital and operating expenses of internet providers so that cost reductions are reflected to the end user. Global initiatives to provide low-cost internet access include Elon Musk’s Starlink project, which serves more than 100 countries with 6,400 satellites.

While the DePIN industry is estimated to have a potential of $2.2 trillion, this figure is expected to increase to $3.5 trillion by 2028.

Uplink aims to achieve a 5% share in the DePIN industry and continues to develop decentralized connection solutions in this direction.

“This is not just a theoretical concept, but a practical and scalable solution that can transform global internet access,” Lei said. “With the right infrastructure and community support, we believe this vision is fully achievable,” he said.

Over the next decade, Uplink aims to support more than 300 Internet of Things (IoT) devices and save telcos more than 10% of their annual expenses.

Uplink, which aims to provide a sustainable solution for both users and providers by relieving the burden of the existing internet infrastructure, plans to further reduce costs as decentralized connection is adopted by wider masses in the coming years.
