Travala and Skyscanner Partnership: A New Era in Travel with Crypto
Crypto-focused travel platform Travala has taken an important step towards the adoption of cryptocurrencies with its integration with global travel search platform Skyscanner.
This integration stands out as Skyscanner’s first collaboration with a crypto-focused application. This partnership between Travala and Skyscanner has the potential to reach more than 110 million monthly users.
Skyscanner Hotels Division President Sanja Vukik stated that this partnership reflects its commitment to offering different payment methods to meet the needs of travelers.
“By integrating Skyscanner’s market-leading search capabilities with Travala.com’s crypto-focused platform, we are making travel planning more accessible and flexible for travelers who prefer alternative payment methods,” said Vukik.
Travala not only provides access to Skyscanner’s large user base, but also contributes to the wider adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.
TON Foundation Investment Director Justin Hyun states that simple, usable applications are needed for mass crypto adoption. According to Hyun, simple apps like Telegram Mini Apps could be a “Trojan Horse” for mass adoption.
Travala CEO Juan Otero stated that the Skyscanner partnership offers an important opportunity to showcase the usage areas of cryptocurrencies in the mainstream.
“Travel marketplaces are the starting point for travelers in the discovery phase, and Travala’s presence on Skyscanner, one of the world’s leading travel marketplaces, will spark curiosity that will lead Web2 users to the Web3 world,” Otero added.
Skyscanner processes more than 80 billion searches daily, which could lead to a huge increase in the number of new users exploring Travala’s crypto-focused travel platform.
This integration allows Travala to further reach mainstream users while also revealing the real-world use of cryptocurrencies. Travala aims to revolutionize the travel industry by offering crypto holders the ability to book travel with direct cryptocurrency payments.
Unlike traditional travel platforms such as Booking and Expedia, Travala offers users the option to pay with more than 100 cryptocurrencies. This causes Travala to gain more attention and preference within the crypto community.
In addition, Travala, unlike traditional loyalty programs, has created a new loyalty program by offering cryptocurrency rewards to its users.
Travala CEO Otero emphasized that one of Travala’s most important differences is offering a wider range of payment options for travelers around the world.
“Travala’s integrated crypto-based loyalty program offers crypto rewards instead of traditional loyalty points, which is an attractive feature for users,” Otero said.
Founded in 2017, Travala is a cryptocurrency-based travel booking platform that offers booking services for more than 2.2 million properties in 230 countries and more than 600 international airlines.
This new collaboration from Travala shows that the platform continues to expand the role of cryptocurrencies in the travel industry.
It is clear that this integration with Skyscanner is a huge opportunity for both Travala and cryptocurrencies. This partnership could both accelerate the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies and enable crypto users to have more flexibility and choice when booking travel.
