Tada and TON Collaboration: Journey Payment Era with Crypto
TON Foundation has signed an important collaboration with Singapore-based travel application Tada, integrating cryptocurrency payments.
Within the scope of this collaboration, users will be able to make travel reservations in Singapore with a Mini Application via the Telegram platform and make payments with crypto currencies. The mini app accepts Toncoin (TON) and Tether USDT, running on the TON (The Open Network) blockchain network.
This development brings a major innovation to Telegram’s large user base and the flexible payment solutions offered by the TON blockchain. Telegram Mini Apps are small applications that run within the Telegram platform, allowing users to access various services without leaving the platform.
Tada’s Mini App also takes advantage of this feature, allowing users in Singapore to book trips by paying with crypto in just a few clicks. This new feature can be opened with just a touch without having to download and install the application and provides great convenience to users.
In his statement to Cointelegraph, TON Foundation’s Korea president, Harvey Kim, announced that the new collaboration was introduced within the scope of the Token2049 event and that 4,000 free and discounted rides will be provided for users who will participate in this event.
Kim also stated that participants at the event will be able to pay with cryptocurrency through the Telegram Mini Application, thus encouraging the use of Toncoin and USDT.
Tada is a travel application that was founded in Singapore in 2018 and stands out with its zero commission policy. Thanks to this policy, it gains a competitive advantage in the sector by offering more affordable prices to drivers and passengers.
The company currently operates in countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia and plans to expand to Hong Kong by the end of 2024.
While Tada aims to provide a better experience to drivers and passengers by using technology, it further strengthens its integration into the digital economy by including crypto currencies in its payment options.
The launch of Tether’s USDT on the TON network stands out as an important part of this integration. In April 2024, Tether integrated its stablecoin USDT into the TON blockchain.
This announcement was made during the Token2049 event in Dubai with the participation of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, TON CEO Andrew Rogozov and Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino. This integration was a major contribution to the TON ecosystem and enabled users to trade with stable cryptocurrencies.
TON blockchain offers an infrastructure that promotes interoperability between different projects and enables transactions in a secure digital environment.
This partnership with Tada adds to the expanding usage areas of the TON blockchain and makes the use of cryptocurrency more accessible in services that are a part of daily life. This both strengthens TON’s ecosystem and accelerates the adoption of cryptocurrencies.
While Tada’s commission-free model offers lower costs to its users, it appeals to a wider audience with its payment system running on the TON blockchain. With the spread of crypto payments, users now have the opportunity to make both safe and fast payments.
These developments are considered an important turning point in both the travel applications industry and blockchain-based payments.
This collaboration between TON and Tada provides a strong example of how cryptocurrencies can be used in real-world applications and paves the way for more such projects in the future.
