This strategy, announced by Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) on October 23, is seen as an important step in the country’s digital transformation journey.

The strategy focuses on areas such as developing blockchain technology, establishing legal frameworks and promoting international cooperation. With this move, Vietnam aims to increase innovation and establish a strong blockchain ecosystem.

The main aim of the strategy is to develop blockchain technology and support innovation in the so-called “Fourth Industrial Revolution”. Government institutions such as MIC and Vietnam Blockchain Association will play a key role in implementing the strategy.

In addition to contributing to Vietnam’s advancement in the field of technology, the strategy provides a comprehensive roadmap that includes the legal recognition of digital assets.

According to the official announcement, five main goals have been determined in the strategy:

Perfecting the legal environment,

Development of infrastructure and creation of the blockchain industry ecosystem,

Developing human resources in the field of blockchain,

Promoting blockchain development and applications,

Supporting research, innovation and international cooperation.

These goals form the cornerstones of Vietnam’s growth strategy in the blockchain space. The government’s aim is to create 20 new blockchain brands for platforms, products and services.

In addition, it is planned to open at least three test centers in major cities in order to establish a strong infrastructure in the country’s blockchain technology. These test centers will play a critical role in the development of blockchain applications, their safe introduction and the implementation of innovative projects.

Another important point of the strategy is the legal recognition of digital assets. By clarifying the legal status of digital assets, Vietnam aims to bring these assets into line with international standards. In this context, it is planned to protect digital assets under civil law.

With this step, the government is committed to combating global threats such as money laundering, terrorist financing and financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. These legal regulations aim to ensure the safer and more transparent use of digital assets.

Vietnam’s goal of developing the blockchain ecosystem is considered an important step not only within the country but also on a global scale. Increasing the country’s international cooperation in the field of blockchain with this strategy can make Vietnam the center of this technology in Asia.

Within the scope of the strategy, it is planned to establish academic and industrial collaborations to promote research on blockchain technology and develop innovative solutions.

Vietnam’s National Blockchain Strategy will support innovation in the sector by strengthening both legal and technological infrastructure. This step will contribute to Vietnam increasing its competitiveness in blockchain technology and consolidating its regional leadership position.
