Protect Your Digital Property with Mobile App and Adobe Plugin

Protect Your Digital Property with Mobile App and Adobe Plugin

One of the biggest problems brought by the digital age is the protection of digital property and intellectual property rights. Artists, photographers, designers and musicians who share their works online often face unauthorized use of their content. This situation causes both creators to lose income and the originality of the works to be damaged.

This is exactly where Overlai comes into play. Using the Aptos blockchain, the Overlai platform offers an innovative solution for the protection of digital property and intellectual property rights. The platform, whose mobile application and Adobe plug-in are in beta, allows content creators to have full control over their works.

Overlai technology works with a method called “invisible watermark”. This system adds a hidden watermark to the media’s metadata. Thus, the watermark is preserved even if the works are compressed, screenshotted or converted. This watermark is recorded on the Aptos blockchain, creating an unchangeable record of ownership.

Overlai spokespeople emphasize that thanks to this system, artists’ content can always be monitored and property rights can be proven even if they are violated. There is no problem in sharing the works on online platforms or other media. The protection remains valid regardless of where the work was published.

Luke Neumann, co-founder and CEO of Overlai, states that the platform aims to create a new standard for copyright and intellectual property protection in the digital age. “Overlai, we hope to create a new standard for material tracking, royalty payments and provenance tracking. Our partnership with Aptos is crucial. Their expertise in this area will leverage blockchain technology to play a critical role in the future of content on the internet,” says Neumann.

Overlai is not just about protecting content. The platform also protects against artificial intelligence (AI) scanning. AI programs and algorithms improve themselves with the data they collect from the internet. In this process, artists’ works can also be used without permission. Overlai’s decentralized infrastructure empowers creators to choose whether or not to engage in AI training. In this way, artists can protect their rights by not allowing their works to be used by AI.

Overlai’s “do not train” C2PA notification plays an important role in blocking AI scanning operations. Thanks to this notification, artificial intelligence bots become unable to use protected media for education or content production.

Avery Ching, chief technology officer of Aptos Labs, also emphasizes the importance of Overlai. “Ensuring creators can maintain ownership over their assets and feel empowered rather than hindered by AI is crucial,” says Ching.

Although Overlai is still in beta, it is seen as a groundbreaking step in the field of protecting digital property rights. As the platform develops in the future, content creators will be able to share their works more securely and protect their rights more effectively. This may also contribute to the creation of a more fair and creative environment in the digital world.
