Mihailo Bjelic, the founding partner of Polygon, left his post: Third Separation
Mihailo Bjelic, one of the founding partners of Polygon, announced that he has left both the development processes and the Board of Directors of the Polygon Foundation. With this separation, three of the four founders that have been carrying out the project together since 2017 are no longer active. Bjelic, social media statement, citing vision differences in the statement, "I will continue to support the edge," he said.
Bjelic left: the founding effect in Polygon decreases
Mihailo Bjelic, one of the founding partners of Polygon, announced on May 23rd that he was withdrawn from his duties because he thought he could no longer contribute to the project.
“As the projects develop, visions develop, sometimes differ. I will always support Polygon, but I feel that I cannot contribute directly anymore.”

Third Founding Separation: New Period of Polygon

Kanani and Arjun, one of these four names, withdrew from the project in the last two years. Now, with the departure of Bjelic, only Sandeep Nailwal continues his active duty.
Nailwal said the following for Bjelic:
“You are not just a founder, you are like my brother. White boards, pages WhitePaper, midnight strategy calls … You have labor at the basis of Polygon.”
Polygon 2.0 and POL Transformation
Bjelic’s separation coincided with a period in which Polygon had undergone a major transformation. Within the scope of the Polygon 2.0 road map initiated at the end of 2024:
The local token of the network was transformed into Pol Token, one -to -one.
POL can now be used in gas fees, stinging and infrastructure layers (eg agglayer).
Polygon is also a leading position in Zero-Knowledge Proof and Proof-of-Stake technologies.
