Economy-Stock Analysis by Murat Muratoğlu! He Gave Examples From Those Countries

Muratoğlu evaluated Turkey's economic situation and stated that the main reason for the rise in the stock market was only high inflation. He emphasized that this rise is not a true indicator of economic growth or development. He also compared Turkey's economic situation with countries such as Argentina and Venezuela, explaining that inflation in these countries could not be controlled and people turned to the stock market to protect their money.

Turkish economist Murat Muratoğlu made important statements in a program that addressed Turkey’s economic problems and the real reasons behind the rise in the stock market. Here is Muratoğlu’s analysis:

Muratoğlu evaluated Turkey’s economic situation and stated that the main reason for the rise in the stock market was only high inflation. He emphasized that this rise is not a true indicator of economic growth or development. He also compared Turkey’s economic situation with countries such as Argentina and Venezuela, explaining that inflation in these countries could not be controlled and people turned to the stock market to protect their money.

Muratoğlu stated that the interest in the stock market in Turkey increased with the high premiums of the companies offered to the public. He explained that IPOs were priced below their true value and then quickly traded at high prices. He stated that this situation caused people to show interest in the stock market.

He also stated that the number of investors exceeded 6 million, stating that the reason for this increase was that the companies offered to the public offered attractive opportunities.

Muratoğlu said that due to high inflation, people’s money has lost value and therefore they have started to turn to alternative investment tools such as dollars or crypto money. However, he added that these options also carry some risks and are subject to limitations. Therefore, he explained that the stock market is seen as a way to avoid inflation and make money.

Finally, he stated that the appreciation of the dollar increased Turkey’s external debt and current account deficit and threatened economic stability. He explained that this situation increased the Central Bank’s tendency to print money, which in turn had an increasing effect on inflation. He also stated that if the dollar rises to the level of 30 liras, exchange-protected depositors may tend to print money in banks, and this situation may worsen the economic problems.

Muratoğlu stated that people’s interest in the stock market is not only due to their belief in the stock market legend, but also that the attractive opportunities offered by the publicly traded companies are effective, adding that this situation is not sustainable and points to some problems.
