MultiversX Introduced 2FA Security for MetaMask!

MultiversX Introduced 2FA Security for MetaMask!

As a significant innovation in the crypto world, MultiversX introduced MultiversX Snap for MetaMask, and this new feature is strengthened by integrating two-factor authentication (2FA) into the blockchain protocol.

As a blockchain that is not compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), MultiversX attracts attention with the Snap plugin it developed for the MetaMask wallet.

This new plugin offers MetaMask users the opportunity to connect to the MultiversX ecosystem, while also bringing extra security measures by providing on-chain 2FA protection.

MetaMask Snaps are third-party controlled add-ons that extend beyond the standard features of the MetaMask wallet and add additional functionality to users’ wallets. These add-ons are designed to enrich the user experience and increase security.

Beniamin Mincu, co-founder and CEO of MultiversX, emphasized that such innovations are a big step in the crypto industry. Mincu stated that they consider the contributions of initiatives such as MetaMask Snap to the industry as a great achievement.

The integration of MultiversX’s 2FA feature into MetaMask aims to significantly increase the level of protection of users’ digital assets.

This integration will strengthen security measures and help users store their digital assets in a safer environment.

According to the press release, the 2FA feature offered by MultiversX Snap is “embedded in the conditioned protocol itself.” This feature increases users’ security by ensuring compatibility between various applications and wallets in the ecosystem.

Lucian Mincu, head of information technologies at MultiversX Labs, stated that the new integration provides an important preview of the possibilities that “Sovereign Chains SDK for next-gen” layer 2s offer for Web3.

This is considered an indicator of what kind of innovations MultiversX’s future projects and technological developments can bring to the Web3 ecosystem.

The information that 324,000 users were victims of crypto phishing fraud in 2023 and digital asset losses exceeded 300 million dollars once again emphasizes the importance of security measures. In this context, MultiversX developed Guardians, an on-chain 2FA solution.

Guardians is a protection mechanism designed to ensure the safety of funds even when users’ private testimonies are stolen.

MultiversX tested Guardians “publicly through community initiatives.” In examples like EGLDHeist, funds were found to remain safe even when a wallet seed phrase was shared publicly. This is considered an important example proving the effectiveness and reliability of the on-chain 2FA feature.

Additionally, MultiversX has partnered with Cornell University’s eCornell to launch a blockchain education program for disadvantaged college students. This program aimed to provide a two-month training experience to 100 students and issue certificates to those who were successful.

Training was delivered through dedicated cohorts of small, instructor-led groups, providing students with personalized attention and a supportive environment.

The Snap and on-chain 2FA feature introduced by MultiversX for MetaMask stands out as an important step in increasing crypto security. It also expands knowledge sharing and training opportunities in the sector through community-focused training programs.
