Blockchain Performance Increased with Tezos "X"!

Blockchain Performance Increased with Tezos "X"!

The ten-year-old Tezos blockchain has announced a development plan that extends to 2026. This plan involves splitting process execution into a separate “canonical rollup” that supports multiple programming languages.

The development teams behind the Tezos blockchain have announced a series of technological upgrades called “Tezos X.” It is stated that these upgrades can provide a “huge increase” in terms of performance, complicability and interoperability.

The roadmap, written jointly by the developer teams, provides a development plan for the next two years. The plan aims to split transaction execution into a separate “canonical rollup” that supports “atomic transactions” between smart contracts written in different programming languages. The main Tezos blockchain will serve as the base layer for consensus and settlement.

Tezos, founded by Arthur and Kathleen Breitman, had a record-breaking initial coin offering (ICO) of $232 million in 2017. In fact, for a while it was seen as one of the most promising smart contract blockchain projects that could rival Ethereum.

However, with a market value of approximately $749 million, the project had difficulty staying in the top ranks and became the 80th largest project. Tezos’ native XTZ token has fallen 92% from its all-time high.

According to a blog post, developers have begun scaling the Tezos network in 2022. According to the article, “At the heart of this strategy are Smart Rollups. Smart Rollups are a scaling technology where an optimized and private second layer executes transactions, while consensus and settlement are guaranteed by the layer-1 blockchain.”

Another important feature is a special data availability layer available on the Tezos mainnet.

The new roadmap is similar to Ethereum’s scaling efforts over the past few years. In Ethereum, transaction execution is delegated to auxiliary layer-2 networks. New “modular” components have emerged to handle other functions that the main Ethereum chain handles, such as efficiently storing chunks of data.

According to the article, “Tezos has evolved from a monolithic structure to a modular design to scale and maintain decentralization. In this modular design, groups of interconnected nodes take on different roles, all while continuing to provide an integrated experience for developers and users.”

What makes the Tezos plan different from Ethereum is that transaction execution can be handled by a single rollup instead of multiple layer-2 networks as in Ethereum.

“Theoretically, a single rollup is sufficient to cover all but the most extreme use cases. Tezos The statement is included.

According to the plan, the canonical rollup is expected to be put into service in 2026.
