Revolution in Bitcoin Art: "Spike #1" Engraved on Epic Sat
The pioneer artist of the Bitcoin art community "Nurorealm" said that engraving his 3D artwork on the "epic satoshi" he recently earned was a "dream come true." The artist, nicknamed "Nuro", said: "The artwork is now engraved on one of the most valuable digital assets in existence, and this is the most valuable digital canvas ever engraved."
Nuro and “Book of Blob,” also a Bitcoin art collective, won an April 25 auction to win the first satoshi (the smallest unit of Bitcoin) in a new Bitcoin halving block issued by ViaBTC.
“Winning the auction was an incredible experience,” Nuro explained. “Putting my work ‘Spike #1’ on epic sat was a dream come true for me.” According to Nuro, founder of Book of Blob, “Spike #1” is the first 3D neurogenerative artwork etched into Bitcoin’s Ordinals protocol.
Nurorealm, Nuro’s neurogenerative brain collection built on the Bitcoin Ordinals protocol, aims to “liberate the mind” and build a community where everyone can create art and technology that will live their own truth.
“The platform generates works of art using my on-chain brain data and preserves human consciousness in Bitcoin forever,” Nuro said.
The 3D artwork put on the Epic sat comes with music and the AI-generated voice of Canadian electronic pop artist Claire Boucher. Boucher is better known as “Grimes”.
Book of Blob stated that the original work took more than 12 months to create and used more than 50 libraries. Nuro’s artwork was assisted by Bitcoin artists “Eloc,” “EPIC CHEF STEAKTOSHI,” and “Bop.”
Regarding this achievement, Nuro said, “Every artist and founding member of the Ordinals protocol dreams of engraving their works on Epic Sat.”
Book of Blob’s Asia lead “XBT” placed a bid of 33.3 Bitcoins (approximately $2.13 million at the time) in the final minutes of the auction held by ViaBTC’s partner cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx Global, beating the previous highest bid of 20 Bitcoins. He left me behind. Nuro said XBT’s “clear bidding strategy” was to win the fourth epic sat by placing a high bid at the last moment. Most of the funds came from the Blob team and community.
CoinEx Global explained that although one satoshi is currently worth about $0.00065, special satoshis like the one earned by Book of Blobs carry a unique “collectible value” in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
ViaBTC noted in a previous interview that the auction is an event of “extraordinary importance” to the Bitcoin ecosystem as it continues to expand beyond Bitcoin’s initial use case, the peer-to-peer cash transfer system.
