Bhutan trusts Binance Pay for the crypto -supported tourism economy

Bhutan plans to expand both tourism and digital economy by integrating crypto into daily life. Thanks to the cooperation with Binance Pay, the business that accepts more than 1,000 crypto in the country is active.

Crypto Tourism: Bhutan draws a new road map

Bhutan wants to make crypto not only as a theoretical technology, but to make it part of daily life in tourism and trade. In the “Digital Bhutan” panel organized jointly with Binance, the authorities revealed the net vision of the country: to carry the crypto to practical life.

Damcho Rinzin, Director of the Ministry of Tourism, stressed the inadequacy of classical payment systems:

“Tourists cannot use SWIFT or cannot pay easily. Binance Pay solves this.”

💳 Binance Pay: First National Crypto Payment System

Binance CEO Richard Teng described this initiative with the following words:

“This is the first national crypto payment system. Crypto tourists spend an average of $ 1,000, this is three times the ordinary tourist.

In Bhutan, over 1,000 businesses are currently getting payment with Binance Pay. Moreover, thanks to the zero commission policy, it is very attractive compared to other payment systems.

🏦 DK Bank: to pay from mining

The DK Bank, who pioneered Bhutan’s early Bitcoin mining activities, is now the actor who expands the acceptance of crypto throughout the country.

Bank CEO Ugen Tenzin said:

“Mobile and QR -based payments are already very common in our country. Crypto fits perfectly to this culture.”

🌱 GelEPHU MINDFULNESS City: Technology + Culture + Sustainability

Speaking at the panel, Gelephu MindFulness City Finance Director Hobeng Lim summarized Bhutan’s digitalization strategy as follows:

“This is just a start. Many other projects based on blockchain are on the road. Crypto is not a side project, it becomes one of the core sectors of the economy.”

Gelephu will be a city of technology and culture planned in the east of Bhutan and designed with the conscious development model that is compatible with nature. Blockchain, sustainability and social integrity are discussed in an integrated way.

🏔 A vision compatible with crypto

Bhutan’s aim is not to host only 300,000 tourists a year, but to keep them longer and to spend more. For this, a community -oriented digital economy is being created that center crypto technologies.

The example of Bhutan reveals how crypton can be used as an infrastructure solution, not a means of speculation in developing countries.
