Avalanche Announces $40 Million Airdrop to Developers

Avalanche Announces $40 Million Airdrop to Developers

Developments regarding the Avalanche network continue to create excitement in the crypto world.

The foundation that supports the Avalanche network has launched a new program called Retro9000 to encourage developers and help develop innovative protocols in the blockchain ecosystem.

This program aims to encourage developers to develop projects on Avalanche by offering a total grant of $40 million ahead of the highly anticipated Avalanche9000 upgrade. Retro9000’s goal is to attract more developers and contribute to the growth of the Avalanche ecosystem.

Retro9000 is aimed at developers who want to develop new projects on the Avalanche network. Developers will need to register on the platform, where they will receive voting credits based on their activity on the network. These voting credits will allow users to vote for specific projects during the incentivized testnet process.

The Avalanche Foundation plans to award retroactive grants to participants based on the outcome of these votes. Luigi D’Onorio DeMeo, COO of Ava Labs, called this process an “incentivized testnet” and explained the details of the process as follows: “These voting credits will be used as a signal for the Avalanche Foundation to retroactively award grants to participants. ”

D’Onorio DeMeo underlined that developers must eventually distribute their projects on the mainnet in order to receive retroactive grants under the Retro9000 program.

“The goal here is to create a strong pipeline by allocating significant funds; “so that we have a series of products that will be released when we move to mainnet,” he said, clearly expressing the purpose of the project.

Avalanche9000 is expected to be the biggest upgrade to Avalanche since its mainnet launch in 2020. This upgrade is intended to make launching tier 1s on Avalanche cheaper, easier to customize, and smoother to maintain.

D’Onorio DeMeo emphasized the importance of the process by saying that the testnet will launch in October and “When the incentivized testnet ends, we hope people will distribute their projects on the mainnet.”

Meanwhile, Avalanche’s native token, AVAX, is down nearly 29% this year. This left Ethereum with a performance in which its ETH gained approximately 13%.

Investors began to question AVAX’s loss of value and the reasons behind it. However, with the Retro9000 program, developers are expected to work on new projects, growing the ecosystem and attracting more users.

Developers taking advantage of this incentive to develop innovative projects will increase the power of the Avalanche network and accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology. While Retro9000 stands out as a remarkable development in the crypto world, it offers a platform that will contribute to the growth of the Avalanche ecosystem.

Additionally, such incentive programs will change the dynamics of the blockchain ecosystem, encouraging more participants to get involved in projects. Avalanche will continue to create new opportunities among investors and developers while providing a strong environment for the realization of new projects under development.

The Retro9000 program is of great importance to the future of the Avalanche. Supporting developers in implementing their projects will accelerate the evolution of blockchain technology and attract the attention of investors.

Such initiatives could lead to wider adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology and accelerate the growth of the industry. Avalanche can open the doors to a new era by taking on a leading role in this process.
