Atari's Blockchain Collection: 500 Exclusive NFTs

Video Game Giant Atari announced that it will meet the users of 500 limited NFT, which can be physically demanded through DYLI, a Blockchain -based collection marketplace.

In its January 23 announcement, the company introduced a limited series of collectible patches based on the history of the game. These collections aim to offer a new experience by combining the digital and physical worlds with blockchain technology.

Each pack will retail for $15 and include either a vintage patch from the 1980s or one of seven new patch designs.

Additionally, some of the packages may include bonus rewards such as gift cards or a special item signed by Atari founder Nolan Bushnell. However, bonus rewards will not be announced until physical packs are claimed.

These limited edition products will be available on the blockchain-based DYLI marketplace built on the Ethereum layer-2 solution Abstract Chain. As a platform that offers gas-free trading support, DYLI allows users to trade NFTs without worrying about transaction fees.

According to Atari’s statement, each patch package will be linked to an NFT and buyers will be able to request physical versions of their products by opening them digitally.

NFT packages can be kept by users indefinitely or traded on DYLI’s secondary market. This gives buyers the opportunity to trade their NFTs even before physically claiming them. Alex Needelman, founder of DYLI, stated that such collaborations will bring millions of new users to the platform and Abstract Chain.

This initiative is not Atari’s first move in the blockchain field. The company started its investments in Web3 projects by launching its own cryptocurrency ATRI in 2018. In this process, it strengthened its presence in the Web3 ecosystem by establishing partnerships with leading blockchain companies such as Enjin and LiteCoin.

Last year, Atari collaborated with Coinbase to launch Onchain Arcade on Ethereum layer-2 solution Base. This platform brought Atari’s classic games such as Asteroids and Breakout to the blockchain, allowing users to experience a new digital experience.

Atari’s blockchain initiatives are in line with general trends in the gaming industry. Large gaming companies such as Sega and Ubisoft have also started to take part in the Web3 field by investing in blockchain projects.

Sega collaborated with game-focused blockchain platform Oasys to bring its popular game Sangokushi Taisen to Web3. Ubisoft, on the other hand, is preparing to launch its blockchain-based game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, on Oasys.

Atari’s limited edition NFT initiative demonstrates the potential offered by blockchain technology in the gaming world. Such innovative initiatives open a new door for users interested in both digital and physical collectibles.

Atari’s investments in blockchain projects show that the brand is in a leading position not only in the gaming industry, but also in the field of digital collections and Web3.
